8. Don’t let it Go Too Fast.
Ok so you made a choice in a mutual fund and after one month you notice that you are not making any gains and have actually lost money in your investment. This can be a stressful situation, especially for young, inexperienced investors. The market can be roller coaster of events that may show you bleak returns one month here and then great returns in another. The law of averages states that what goes up must come down and vice versa so if you did your due diligence on your mutual fund and your financial planner helped you to make a good choice, then consider sticking it out. You can always discuss your concern with your financial planner if you feel that the investment was not good.
